11 Victoria Square, Holmfirth, HD9 2DN.
This very impressive restaurant is right in the town centre and covers all three floors of the building. The downstairs (ground-floor), has cosy little snug areas tucked in around the corner, perfect for couples looking for that little bit of intimacy.
Meanwhile, the upstairs, with views over Holmfirth centre, is pleasant and spacious with plenty of tables. The new owners have also transformed the cellar into a very stylish cocktail bar, where you can choose from a wide selection of cocktails. All three floors of the restaurant have been very tastefully decorated in a modern, bistro style.
In the main restaurant on the ground-floor, you can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen, preparing your meal in a calm and professional manner. The staff are warm and friendly and happy to explain anything you might need to know about the menu.
The Aldea menu gives you the option of small plates or main plates. The small plates are really a starter or tapas, while the main plates are a traditional main course meal.
The main menu has a wide selection to choose from, with something to suit everyone’s taste buds; Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb with Ratatouille, Seafood and Chorizo Paella or for the vegetarians, Spinach, Pine Nut & Feta Cheese Filo Pie with Mediterranean Vegetables and Basil Oil. Extra dishes can be found on the Aldea Specials Board.
The ‘Sweet Plates’ menu has a fine selection of tempting desserts including, sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, dark chocolate tart with chantilly cream or various flavours of ice cream.
The Aldea Restaurant welcomes children and has disability access to the ground-floor dining area and the disabled toilet.
